Yesterday I learned an important lesson about a so-called friendship.
I learned that a person will follow the one with the baton in the parade, mimicking their behavior just to be applauded and seen…
But when the music stops and the so-called “leader” ceases to lead, and instead leaves you standing by yourself in the crowd, you are standing in the naked truth of who you really are…
Their prop without a leg to stand on.
Eventually, the crowd begins to whisper what the blaring band could never drown out…the truth of one’s character.
And when the parade moves on, the borrowed skills of a misguided leader offer no instruction for standing alone.
Perhaps it is important to read the room and know your audience.
I’ve left the stands of a very unforgettable performance.
Universal Lesson: No matter who they are…at the 11th hour, in a private conversation…people will save themselves…
Every.
Single.
Time.
You get what you PLAY for.
Love and blessings,
Wendy
