Mixed Signals:Soul Notes – Love, Wendy

Stay on your own side of the street.

If you are not asked to step off the curb into the intersection on my behalf to help me clear the way…please don’t take it upon yourself to ignore the red light…

Read the sign—-NO TRESPASSING.

This is where emotional fatigue sets in after repeated hurt and I no longer feel moved or connected because…
the pattern is familiar-
the apology doesn’t match the impact-
and somewhere deep inside, I have already grieved this dynamic.
So instead of fresh pain, I feel… flat.

I have arrived here after too many cycles. I am no longer investing emotion where it hasn’t been safe to place it.

I observed the entanglement…the private influence…the pattern.

And once you see that clearly…you choose to surrender…

And you are done.

Not in a reactive way.
Not in a wounded, flailing way.
But in a resolved way.

The repeated infractions have brought me to a dead-end street… where I now choose to live in peace.

Love and blessings,

Wendy

Peace Begins With Me: Soul Notes – Love, Wendy

When the body feels safe, it can access curiosity, kindness, peace, even humor.

Without safety, the body goes straight into fight, flight, or freeze.

When we mindfully practice composure—it is self-leadership and can promote equanimity and peace.

“Peace begins with me.”

“The Joker and the Queen” – Love, Wendy

When I heard the song, The Joker and The Queen by Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift…it deeply resonated. It reminded me that love arrives gently when the timing finally lines up.

The metaphor is beautiful…

The queen doesn’t have to chase, or prove her worth.
The joker is the one who recognizes her value, and chooses her with his whole heart.

And the deeper message in the song is that the queen is already complete on her own. The joker simply sees her clearly and stands beside her.

An unlikely pair finding love where it is least expected…

And the waiting…??? It isn’t empty time nor wasted moments…
It is a new story…
It is the universe making sure the joker who arrives knows exactly what he’s been given…

Until then…keep doing exactly what you’re doing…living, growing, learning, laughing, writing, loving, healing, and sometimes even “floating” when you need to.

When the joker’s cards fold, he has nothing left to hide behind…no bravado, no winning hand, no performance. His guard drops…

The game is over.

And in that moment, the queen truly sees him.

Not just when he’s confident or successful, but when he’s exposed and human. And instead of turning away, she sees the goodness and heart in him…his best self…even when he may not see it himself.

The joker represents the imperfect, wandering soul who sometimes feels like he doesn’t belong in the royal deck…

The queen represents someone who sees through the chaos and recognizes the soul underneath.

The card imagery is really about vulnerability and worth.

Real love is not about the winning hand.
It’s about being fully seen when the cards fall.

I have learned that…

The right joker doesn’t just hope the queen will see him…

He lays the cards down willingly because he trusts her heart…

And together…

We are a full hand…of hearts.

“Full hands…Fuller hearts.”

Wendy

Happy International Women’s Day – Love, Wendy

Be a loving example for your daughters and granddaughters of strength, determination, and love of self—especially in today’s world.

The little ones and young women in our lives are always watching. They learn not only from what we say, but from how we live, how we carry ourselves, and how we care for our own hearts and bodies.

Be mindful of the young women who look to you for leadership. In a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain, those of us who have walked through hardship and come to know ourselves have an opportunity…and perhaps a responsibility—to be a glistening reflection of light and hope.

When they look at us, they begin to see what is possible within themselves.

Let them see women who honor their worth. Women who set boundaries. Women who practice empathy and at the same time stand up for themselves fiercely…100 percent of the time. Women who rise again after falling. Women who choose compassion, resilience, and authenticity over perfection.

And most importantly, teach them the truth that took many of us years to learn…

“Self first.”

Because “self care is the actions that we take to achieve wellness and wellness is where we stand in our power.”

When young women understand that caring for themselves is not selfish but essential, they learn to stand firmly in their own strength, independence, and resilience.

And from that place, they will light the way for the next generation.

May the way we live remind them that a woman’s greatest strength is the courage to honor herself.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Sink, Swim…or Float? Soul Notes – Love, Wendy

Today I am too tired to swim, so I am choosing to float…

It is where the noise of the world softens, and the heart and body that have carried too much can finally rest, like the gliding of a goldfish in the gentle rhythm of the water, knowing that even floating is a form of strength.

Honor and Trust – Love, Wendy

The way others trust you with their private struggles says a lot about the energy you carry.

People can feel when someone is safe… when they won’t gossip, judge, or weaponize vulnerability. Trust like that is not accidental; it grows slowly through consistency and integrity.

It isn’t built by trying to be liked.
It isn’t built by positioning or influence.

It is built quietly…over time…by showing up as the same ethical and trustworthy person, day after day.

When someone entrusts you with their story, it is a privilege.

It is an honor.

Love and blessings,

Wendy

This is Where Our Freedom Begins – Love, Wendy

“You have no idea what you are made of until the candle burns out and
you are left to use that tiny little ember to ignite the flame that will light
your way. It’s that or “rest in pieces” in the hollow, dark hole.

Challenge yourself. When you finally rise up, a little bruised but not broken, you will
begin to live.

My greatest spiritual shifts have come through the willingness
to “take my own inventory.”

It always turns out that the anticipation of taking the action is what I fear,
but I do it anyway. Afterwards, I reflect on what I was in fear of, and realize
that it was of not being perfect...an old unhealthy thinking pattern.

Now, whether I succeed or whether I need to try again, I have successfully and willingly taken a risk, which builds my self confidence, experiences, and resiliency.

The more we practice resiliency, the more we build resiliency.

LIVE – YOUR – TRUTH.

SPEAK – YOUR – TRUTH.

In the quiet of our space, we have the awareness of what our truth
really is.

This is where freedom begins…
