I am not here for you to step on as the foundation of who you pretended to be.
I once told you…I am not your relationship tutor.
If you didn’t have the capacity to love me the way I deserve,
you should have stepped aside.

And yet… here you are, still in my orbit, years later.

I am here for reciprocity.
For unconditional love I can feel, even when I’m alone…
not unrequited love that lives only in your empty words,
never in your behavior.

Your attention-seeking now that I’ve moved on is exhausting.
It is disrespectful.

You would not recognize this version of me.
And for that, I thank you.

Because you forced me inward…to seek truth,
to build love from within,
to meet a new relationship from a whole and healthy place.

I am the one who got away—
because you never had the courage to connect with yourself,
let alone with me.

Find your self-respect.
Move forward.
Be well.

Closing Mantra
I release the need for closure from anyone but myself.
I do not grieve who they were—I honor who I’ve become.
I am no longer available for half-love, false hope, or emotional residue.
I walk forward in truth, in dignity, and in devotion to my peace.
I trust that love, when it’s real, will never require me to abandon myself.
Each time I begin to abandon my beautiful self,
God whispers, “It’s okay to peek at the past with fondness—just don’t romanticize the poetry. After all, it’s just another line on an empty page.”

The Universe Tweaks My Assignment – Love, Wendy

Sometimes, the Universe keeps putting people on our path not to show us what we lack, but to reveal how much we’ve grown. I am being called to refine my discernment—to notice, even sooner, who is capable of meeting me fully, and who is still orbiting their own unhealed places. It is empowering…I am no longer chasing love. I am curating my inner circle with care.

The Universe shows me over and over, that the love I am seeking will have to match the depth, the softness, and the strength which I have cultivated in myself. When we raise the bar, the right people rise to meet us there. We strive for absolute balance as we aim to reach the bar on each glorious day. 

With clear eyes, I’m learning to stay open to love…even in the face of uncertainty.

Spirit is my teacher.

Soul Notes

After the Storm – Love, Wendy

I’ve lived through storms that could have swallowed me.
I’ve known love that vanished without warning,
and words that were louder than actions.

I carry a story shaped by fire,
and still—I choose to speak gently, to hope bravely,
to open my heart with discernment, not fear.

If someone is drawn to my light
but disappears when it flickers with truth—
that’s not my failure.
That’s their unfamiliarity with real strength…
and a reflection of their lack of readiness.

One’s silence is not a reflection of my worth, my story, or my strength. My past is not a liability—it’s a testament to my power. Anyone who doesn’t see the resilience, courage, and transformation in my story is simply not ready for a woman who’s done the hard work to rise.

Sometimes people are moved by intensity in the moment, but when it comes time to actually step into something real—with complexity, depth, and vulnerability—they retreat. Not because you were too open, but because they weren’t ready for the kind of truth and intimacy that requires.

I will continue to live out loud…not just to live in my truth…
but to hold the space for others who need an example of “to thine own self be true.”

This isn’t just about me.
It’s about the sacred ripple of authenticity…
how one voice saying “this is who I am”
gives permission for another to whisper, “me too.”

Ask yourself,
“Where are you holding back in speaking your truth for fear of being ghosted? What would you tell a dear friend in this same situation if they wanted to hide their scars that revealed their own fight to live? Whose silence might your truth help to break?”

To be an advocate for others…we must always share our own story to stand in our truth.
This is the space where we stand in our power.

A Love Letter to our Wellness in Recovey Community – Love, Wendy

Thank you for trusting me with your personal stories yesterday and last night.

Wow.

There is so much truth to the fact that we ALL have a story, and that when we share our stories, it allows us to feel supported, and to support others who are experiencing challenges, adversity and heartbreak.

Please know that suffering does not discriminate. However, as we come together and we share our experiences, and we pray for each other, we build a loving community, a spiritual community, where we also build resilience. And the more we practice resilience through healthy practices, daily, the stronger we become…the more resilient we become.

We adapt and navigate with mindful determination through the stress, we continue to be productive, go to work, enjoy our family and friends, love, laugh, cry, all together, knowing we are not alone. One day at a time. One hour at a time. One moment at a time.

I shared my personal story of my own 13 year recovery from substance use disorder as well as my daughter’s ongoing battle with this life threatening disease. You reached out privately to share your similar story and experience. And so many of you told me you had not shared before. To unpack that build up of burden is a relief to our physical and mental health.

What I have learned over the years in working in this field, and having the lived experience is that we NEED each other, and we experience comfort when we feel a part of a loving community. And we all deserve to live in peace and wellness, no matter our circumstances.

WE are not alone when we speak our truth and ask for what we need. And inherently, we know what we need to feel better. It will look different for everyone, and will change over time with our circumstances.

Love, kindness, support, prayer. COMMUNITY.

Spiritual Immunization – Love, Wendy

Spiritual immunization means putting oneself first, daily, using spiritual solutions and self care practices. This includes any healthy practices that create an environment of peace, joy and wellness with a foundation in faith and gratitude.

When we are “spiritually immunized,” we set limits, and implement healthy boundaries to protect our own energy. We are deeply connected to Spirit, and we are of service to others seeking a spiritual immunization and spiritual lifestyle.

When we are “spiritually immunized,” we are unshakeable in our faith regardless of the cacophony of intended distractions that surround us by those who have not yet found their Divine light within.

When we are “spiritually immunized,” we continue to lead by example, radiate positive energy as we lead the way, and we stand ready to guide those who step onto their spiritual path when they are ready.

When we are “spiritually immunized,” we know that we are lovingly guided, and we live with peace in our soul…

Life is not meant to be stressful and chaotic.

A “spiritual immunization” reminds us that our wellness comes first, to stand in faith, and to allow ourselves the freedom to live, laugh, love and learn.

Spiritual immunization promotes wellness.

Faith Is An Enigma – Love, Wendy

In my opinion, Faith is an enigma…

a mysterious force that transcends logic and common sense, yet provides a deep sense of purpose and confidence with the belief in something beyond what can be seen or proven.

A quiet, personal and subjective trust in my personal space…a space where I connect to peace through this “enigma.”

While it may seem paradoxical—faith offers strength and comfort in moments of doubt and inspires hope when all seems as if it has drifted too far to return, yet always reminds me of the possibility of rebirth.

Faith is always assuring me that no matter how distant I may feel from peace or resolution, there is always a path, even if it’s one that I cannot yet see…

but I can feel it…

Question everything. Often. Entertain new perspectives. Consider new theories. Explore them with an open mind and heart.

Sit in silence.

Listen.

Feel the quiet whispers as it speaks to you through the subtle rhythms of nature, the synchronicities of life, and the intuitive nudges within your heart.

This is where Faith trancends barriers of fear.

You may hear the response. You may feel the loving guidance of the Universe.

The Universe’s voice is ever-present, persistent, and full of possibility, if we are willing to pause long enough to listen and feel its presence.

Faith IS an enigma.

Embrace Faith.

God cannot save everyone – Love, Wendy

God cannot save everyone.

Even through constant prayer, I have seen for years that one I love has reached the point of no return. Angry. Judgemental. Unyielding. Unforgiving. Brainwashed by the masses.

This often takes place in the psyche of one who lacks self worth, self esteem, self regulation and awareness, and cannot regulate their emotions when it comes to social awareness. And it is prevalent in relationships where this “lack of” takes the form of toxicity that breeds chronic uncertainty and fear, that which becomes unsustainable.

This often takes place where a soul does not “know God.”

I know that God offers us options. He loves us unconditionally. He opens doors that lead to healthy choices, healing and redemption. Doors that lead to love, and a life filled with peace, joy and connection. A life where we have the opportunity to be connected, protected and guided by our loving God.

And in some cases, as I have said many times, “You can only lead the horse to the water.”

I prayed for him for years. I wanted to believe he was the man he pretended, or even wanted to be, only to be shown, by our loving God, the truth…day after day, year after year.

I still pray for her because I believe she is at a crossroads and about to turn the corner. I love my daughter deeply and I believe she will walk through an open door invitation before it is too late. #sheismydaughter

There is so much truth in the saying, “God helps those who help themselves.”

After all, look at me. Getting ready to enter my 12th year of recovery from addiction. I crawled through the door very near to my death, where God helped me up, and showed me the way, and I never looked back.

“There before the grace of God go I.”

God cannot save all of his children, but he always loves them just the same.

I will always love you just the same.

Prayer and Faith – Love, Wendy

I need not subscribe to anyone else’s idea of how “to pray” or what “to believe”.
My individual spiritual practice has been my primary source of inspiration and motivation on my journey of recovery. It continues to deepen my faith. It works for me.
God saved my life nearly 12 years ago from a life threatening brain disease known as SUD. (Substance Use Disorder).

He has provided me profound life lessons where I have learned to become more self aware, self regulated, self sufficient, and to grow more empathy of social awareness in my interaction with others.

Spirit has taught me that prayer, self care, love and kindness are the keys to connection, happiness, inner peace, and abundance…a life where I seek a spiritual answer that unfolds organically rather than reacting in an escalated moment of fear, frustration or disappointment.

Prayer and faith is subjective and personal.

And a spiritual connection is one’s ability to “intuitively understand something that impacts our soul and gives meaning to our lives”, and recognizing a strong connection to something bigger than oneself.

Pray, in whatever way you connect to God, the Universe, Spirit, or Nature. In this authentic space, you will be lovingly guided, and you will hear the answers. Each spiritual connection is unique. And, be open to a new perspective that teaches us to understand and to respond through a wider lens.

It is through this wider lens that I have learned, grown and continue to evolve. And, I repeatedly step into the space of a wider lens daily as each new day brings its own puzzle of pieces that need to be interlocked in a way that makes sense for me to feel spiritually, physically, and mentally connected.
