Songs of Guidance – Love, Wendy

Through my writing and coaching, I have always shared my connection to Spirit/Universe through music (as well as other modalities) and that all of my writing is Divinely inspired and guided each morning when I sit in stillness and listen for the words that need to be shared.

So this morning, I am sharing with you how this all came together in my writing.

As I sat in prayer and meditation this morning, asking for clarity of a personal situation, these three songs (that I have posted along with my writing/post on social media) played on Pandora in a row subsequent to my prayer, and I was guided to put these three titles into an inspirational writing. “Steady Hope, Eternal Whisper, Suddenly Yours.”

Hence, today’s post reads, “If it’s meant for you, you will feel the soothing warmth of reassurance, and the eternal whispers of steady hope… and then, it is suddenly yours.”

This is my proof today, and similarly every day that I am heard, that I am guided, and that I am loved.

When we are open to Divine communication, we see, hear and feel beyond our physical limitations.

Faith Is An Enigma – Love, Wendy

In my opinion, Faith is an enigma…

a mysterious force that transcends logic and common sense, yet provides a deep sense of purpose and confidence with the belief in something beyond what can be seen or proven.

A quiet, personal and subjective trust in my personal space…a space where I connect to peace through this “enigma.”

While it may seem paradoxical—faith offers strength and comfort in moments of doubt and inspires hope when all seems as if it has drifted too far to return, yet always reminds me of the possibility of rebirth.

Faith is always assuring me that no matter how distant I may feel from peace or resolution, there is always a path, even if it’s one that I cannot yet see…

but I can feel it…

Question everything. Often. Entertain new perspectives. Consider new theories. Explore them with an open mind and heart.

Sit in silence.

Listen.

Feel the quiet whispers as it speaks to you through the subtle rhythms of nature, the synchronicities of life, and the intuitive nudges within your heart.

This is where Faith trancends barriers of fear.

You may hear the response. You may feel the loving guidance of the Universe.

The Universe’s voice is ever-present, persistent, and full of possibility, if we are willing to pause long enough to listen and feel its presence.

Faith IS an enigma.

Embrace Faith.

Moment of Grace – Love, Wendy

When I feel depleted, I have nothing to share…I cannot fill your cup.

If I need time, for whatever the reason, it’s not about you. I’m not abandoning you, I’m just making myself a priority today where I offer to myself a moment of grace.

I am worthy of rest and wellness.

Managing Daily Stress For Lasting Wellness – Love, Wendy

Find your inner strength and resolve to allow your mind to steer you towards wellness, recognizing that true resilience comes from within with every opportunity that affords you to practice navigating with a clear mind and healthy body, not from the fleeting relief of external substances. External situations, no matter how challenging, should never dictate your choices or push you towards unhealthy coping mechanisms.

By recognizing and nurturing your inner clarity, you have the opportunity to make healthy practices a lifestyle. Try grounding yourself in healthier ways to manage stress—such as mindfulness, exercise, organic foods, loving connections, and self-reflection where you empower yourself to face life’s challenges and adversity, disappointments and hardships with awareness, grace and stability.

In choosing wellness over temporary escapes, you honor your body and mind, building lasting strength, and a sense of agency that no external circumstance can take away. Remember, the power to heal and grow always resides within you when you practice daily self care, self respect and self preservation.

As it states in my book, Write Pray Recover:A Journey To Wellness Through Spiritual Solutions and Self Care, “Self care is the actions that we take to achieve wellness, and wellness is where we stand in our power.”

Take care of yourself for yourself, and to demonstrate to others how you expect to be treated. By honoring your own needs and setting clear boundaries, you show others that you value yourself and deserve to be treated with kindness and consideration.

And perhaps, you will encourage those observing your agency and practices to set their own standards a little higher.

Mental Health and Wellness – Love, Wendy

Our mental health is on a continuum and on any given day, for any given reason, at any given time we move along that continuum and we must be armed with a variety of tools at our disposal as we move along the continuum.

Movement along the continuum could relate to biological factors, environmental factors and even how we practice daily self-care.

Self care is one of the most effective ways in managing our symptoms and to stay ahead of our symptoms. This is especially true when we are aware of our body/mind connection and recognize the symptoms in the early stage of escalation. With this information, we can intervene immediately, and/or ask for support.

We all have mental health.

Our relationship to self driven by self care, self respect and self preservation above all else is the foundation of wellness.

Wellness becomes not just an outcome, but a living practice grounded in our ability to honor and protect the integrity of who we are, and how we experience life.

Who we are – Love, Wendy

We can’t stop others from their own interpretation, but we never internalize their experience of who we are.

Their inaccuracies and limited understanding and beliefs of themselves project onto what they believe and what they think they observe.

Most importantly, it is their own lack of self worth and lived experiences, combined with fear of uncertainty that confines them to live with an illusion of “control and certainty.”

They cling to narratives that offer them comfort, even if those narratives are distorted born from their own insecurities and fears. These are merely reflections of their own inner world, not the heart and soul of who we are.

Adulting – Love, Wendy

The only control that we have is how we are taking care of ourselves, daily, and the way in which we choose to respond to external situations of which we have no control.

We really DO have control over our lives in many ways and we need to utilize our power and filter it to our benefit. I will not dignify anyone or anything that does not align with my values and chooses to be hurtful.

When we choose “to adult” and to use these social emotional living practices, we can make room for love and friendship on our terms and hopefully have the relationships that both sides are excited about.

This is an opportunity to stand in our power.

“Self care is the actions that we take to achieve wellness, and wellness is where we stand in our power.”

Living in my truth – Love, Wendy

Live your life in your truth confidently, and with conviction. Take the time to explore who you are, and even when your circumstances change around you, continue to be that person. Continue to stand firmly in your truth…your power, regardless of the circumstances or opinions.

This is the inner work that guides you, and builds character, strength and self awareness. It leads to healthy living through choosing healthy practices and loving relationships.

When we are rooted in self-discovery and personal growth, and we recognize the positive ripple effect it can have on others, we create a space of empowerment…

For everyone.

My reflection:

Being on my own for so many years has given me the opportunity, time after time, for self discovery and exploration.

And just when I think I “get it,” I am given another opportunity to go deeper and to learn even more.

Being a lifelong spiritual student is not for the faint hearted. However, it creates such a deep sense of self and connection to Spirit that builds resilience.

When I look back on my 12+ years of recovery from substance use disorder and mental health disorders, and I recognize where I am in the present moment and how I arrived here, I am in awe of how I have embraced the lessons and have empowered myself to become the woman, mom, grandmother, and friend who I admire, who I depend upon, solely, and most importantly, who I love.

There have been so many times where I became so filled with anxiety and felt hopeless, but when I pause and reflect, it reminds me of the many times before that one where I felt the same way and used my knowledge and experiences to help me take another step forward.

I speak up. I advocate for myself. I live my life as me, for me.

What Can We Control? – Love, Wendy

The stress of every day living, most especially in our current world culture and climate, is the major cause of “dis-ease.”

Remind yourself every day that you are doing your very best in the current moment, and strive only for wellness, love, joy and peace. Otherwise, your body and mind become hostage to unreasonable expectations, demands and opinions of others.

Practice self awareness and use your body/mind connection as your compass for alleviating stressful situations and toxic people.

Practice social awareness setting healthy boundaries.

Practice self regulation through mindfulness practices including being outdoors in nature.

Practice making responsible decisions that positively impact your wellness and that of your loved ones.

Finally, engage only in loving, healthy, reciprocal relationships.

These are the social emotional, self care living practices that you CAN control in a world that has gone out of control.
